Is It Worth Your Time To Create A Book Trailer?

Book trailers are cool. I love them, but is it really worth an author’s time to create one? Do they actually help sell books?

I personally think if the author does have the time and has fun doing it, she should. The reason why I think so is because it’s something else an author can use to promote her book(s).

On the matter of if they help sell more books . . . I don’t know. I think it depends on how an author uses her book trailer to get the word out.

There are lots of programs to use to create one. I’m not going to lie, I suck at technology. Years ago I used a program off of my computer (I can’t remember the name of it at the moment), and I’m sure you have one as well. Here’s the first one I’ve ever made.–>

Yeah, it’s not like super cool or anything, but hey it was my first try at creating one and considering I’m not a techie, it’s not all that bad. LOL

Then we have this one I created and still use to promote The Devil’s Third. I love it. Check it out–>

When I have time, I plan on creating a book trailer for Legends of Deceit which is in line edits, btw, and one for my other books as well. It’s hard work, you guys. You have to come up with a storyboard, pictures or videos to use, and music. Not to mention, decide on what video program to use to help you create a book trailer. That’s why I said if you have time and think you’d have fun making one of these, I say go for it.

If anyone who is reading this has a book trailer you’d like to share, post it in comments. I’d love to see them and know what program you used to create it.
